Terrible service, understaffed on a saturday night. Came in to order drinks off the menu, told to wait in the bar for a table that would be ready in 5-10 minutes. 45 minutes later shown to a table. Ten minutes until the order for iced tea was taken.<br> Doesnt hold a candle to pancake parlour - major disappointment
Went to the Paddo for the Wednesday trivia and arrived early to grab a table and a bite to eat. A friendly reception from the fellow on the bar who let us know where the trivia was and gave us menus. Ordered a Vege Burger and Veg Nachos. Both nice meals (8/10). Nachos serving was huge! A good size to share between 2-3 people. The sweet potato chips that came with the vege burger were very yummy! Quick and attentive service.
Find 1889 along a great little street in Woollongabba.. as you arrive you will be greeted by friendly staff. The food is delicious, the gnocchi their signature and couldn't recommend more highly. My favourite gnocchi dish. The oysters were prepared nicely as well. Great selection of international wines.

Came here with a large sized group for a big family dinner. Meals were served in reasonable time and the kids enjoyed the small playground whilst they waited. Meals were adequate size and good quality. Standard pub fair at a reasonable price
Love dining at popolo's. Always great delicious food, service and atmosphere. Mitchell the waiter always remembers us from past visits. Food comes out quickly. I wasn't into Italian cuisine until I tried popolo's. Highly recommend.
I would certainly recommend this as one of the best stops in CBDGreat atmosphere here.
I have been here twice. First time was with my boss and we were told to hurry up and order as the kitchen was closing soon (this was at 1:30 in the afternoon on a Friday). The second time was after I had an operation and could not eat much (the other people at our table ordered lots of food) but could have liquids and when I advised the Manager of this he replied in a smug attitude “oh but you can drink wine can you?”. I have also had friends attend a dinner and were advised that they must have the banquet to which they replied that they did not want the banquet and would eat elsewhere (there were 5 adults and 1 kid) and then the restaurant changed their mind and let them stay (how generous of them). Restaurants can’t dictate what we are going to eat and seriously change your attitude towards your customers. I will never be back again.
my daughter took me here,i didn't want to go in at first but glad I changed my mind.this place isn't for everyone but it is their loss.coffee is great the décor is out of a comic book albeit a adult comic book.clientel is worth watching.girls behind counter look great and could not have been more helpful .purchased a tee shirt as well and will wear it with pride.if you want an experience drop in .
great menus options, good service, we had risotto and pasta, but have a fabulous pizza menu....excellent prices
