Unfortunately my experience at Helvetica was the worst first impression and encounter I have ever had at an establishment. I appreciate misunderstandings and mistakes that are made professionally, but it is how this omission was dealt with that has left me shocked. I visited Helvetica after work (100% sober) for a birthday, the first thing I did was go to the bathroom and upon leaving went to the bar to order a drink. The female manager at the time RAN to the bar to tell the three very confused and equally as shocked bar tenders to not serve me, all the while pointing at me in front of the whole bar. The bar tenders argued with the manager (I could hear the whole thing as it was right in front of my face) that I was sober, which she passionately disagreed with as I was 'vomiting in the cubicles.' Ok, she obviously mistook me for someone else in the cubicle, fair enough so after they served me and continued to point at me and argue, I politely did my 'sorry to interrupt but may I please clarify this situation' as it was embarrassing me and ruining the atmosphere as they were literally right next to us. The audacity of the manager was incredible, she didn't apologise for getting it wrong, or even say a word for that matter: I received a patronising smile and slow blink of the eye. I have never experienced such an unjust treatment and was so upset I walked out of the venue and my associates and I will never be back. Beautiful Bar, excellent Bar tenders, excellent cocktails but worst experience which breaks my heart for the owner.
