I believe the theater opened this restaurant on-site just recently. It's extremely convenient to have dinner here before a show. We had a 7:30PM show and had 6PM dinner reservations. We were able to get drinks, a meal and a dessert before the show started. But if you arrive late, it might be a bit of a stretch, so be sure to show up on time. I think bookings are probably essential, so call ahead or book online. The menu was small, but their options were enough in my opinion: they had chicken, fish, beef and vegetarian options for the mains, so my group was happy. The food was solid; my chicken was cooked very well - juicy on the inside but crispy skin on the outside. The presentation was also very good. We had friendly and efficient service as well. The only real downside is that the wine list was lacking; they only offered wines from one Australian winery. I actually did enjoy the wine that we ordered - but just be aware that there aren't many options.I'd certainly recommend it if you want a convenient dinner before your show.

Enjoyed a birthday meal before the theatre. Service was very good and the food was exceptional. Limited menu which works well. Tasty food and my pasta with squid was fresh and full of flavour. Very well priced.

The Two Trout Restaurant is a fairly new initiative of two obviously experienced and enthusiastic chefs in the Eternity Playhouse of the excellent Darlinghurst Theatre Company. It's a very welcome addition to the theatre bar service and is open from 6.00 pm before shows. The menu is carefully chosen and manageably limited - one each of vegetarian, fish, chicken, beef plus some lovely sides, great sourdough and cheese. We had pulled beef (they'd run out of grilled chicken) on a delicious Israeli couscous and pomegranate salad. The prices are very reasonable especially for the quality of the food. The desserts are downright cheap and worth going for them alone. No expresso coffee. You don't have to be going to a show to eat there but why would you not take the opportunity with this outstanding theatre company?

Not unique or special, but convenient if you enjoy a meal or drinks at the same place as the theatre. But given the location of the theater, almost the heart of the food in Sydney, there are so many ways to reach on foot that there are not... many advantages to eat here.
