We stopped at the brewery for lunch. The bar and brewery look fabulous but the menu uninspiring. I settled for prawns and bacon. They came with a lovely salad and lots of chips. There were 6 prawns but they were insipid and came with two small pieces of thin, fatty bacon tail. My partner's calamari was also average.
We come across this place while walking the streets of Mildura." How cool is this " were out thoughts.Greeted by a beautiful staff member , offered a small tasting before purchase, and hooked for life.My choice was the heavy darker beer. Somewhere between a dark ale and a stout. Rich creamy and smooth...Real boutique vibe to this place, clean vibrant , and plenty of seating. The only thing that stopped this being a 5 star........ A staff member banging and thumping , and repairing a table at 11.30am ( yes nearly lunch service ) and we had noise equivalent to gunshots over our head as we were sipping away.We slipped off for lunch somewhere else.
Wow, you walk in the door and instantly its a place you feel you want to be in. Such great atmosphere. You can view the brewery and shiny stainless steel vats through gleaming glass inside. I went up the circular stairs because you just want to see whats up there. I saw a great looking function room and another view of the brewery.Bar or normal style tables and chairs for dining in aesthetic surroundings. The toilets are also very clean and modern.Lunch was not expensive and features mainly burgers and chips, but done very nicely and not maccas or hungrys styles. Good, thick cut chips. I'm sure the salt and pepper squid would be popular. I had chicken schnitzel burger with yummy home made aioli.I did not mind my meal coming in the cardboard tray, but yes, the plastic knifes and forks could go to minimise plastics. The lovely young man at the bar was very friendly and we enjoyed a jug of beer with our meal for only 10.00. I am not usually a beer drinker but the beer was good, and 1.5 glasses were downed by me.I enjoyed being here and would return. If i lived in Mildura I easily think this would end up being one of my favourite places for lunch.
If you want to get fed with a big plate of no frills food, then look no further. Very simple menu and as long as you don't expect a gourmet meal this is the place.Food is served in a paper carton with plastic cutlery and service is pretty quick. The brewery is very clean although we found it quite cold.Didn't drink the beer, but there's plenty to choose from if you fancy.Worth checking out.
There's a broad and somewhat eclectic range of Asian style offerings here, from Japanese to Indonesian, Thai and Malay. Wouldn't call it 'fusion' myself - that is a too oft used term without a knowledge of what it means. This place serves Asian style food which is accessible to the mainstream. The menu seems to work OK and the food we had was pretty good - busy even on a Tuesday night when others were not. The service was attentive. The wine list covered the bases and was well priced. The restaurant has a socially noisy mod/hipster cafe style and a good atmosphere. They cater for birthdays apparently ( as we were to learn ) and they make an extra fuss if it happens to be your 'special' day - loud birthday anthem, lots of community clapping and encouragement. Notwithstanding it was a Tuesday in mid August we went on a night where this played out 4 ( yes 4 ) times. The restaurant had also apparently just celebrated it's first. Good luck to them but not intimate dining - not that we were looking for that. A pleasant surprise in Mildura and would recommend. They do takeaway too.
