We visited this establishment on a reasonably quiet morning for breakfast. The facility had approx. 6 customers dining. The young lady(apprx 19 years of age) serving customers had a fetish with calling everyone "love" and was quite annoying. One coffee arrived and some minutes later another arrived. The food arrived a little later and looked ok, however it was "not" hot. This establishment could do a lot better with both customer service and quality of food product. We were not overly impressed with either and would be reluctant to return.
Great Manager - you have to admire anyone that has given it a go in the cafe industry .Im not a fan of Coffee,Coffee snobs or the Dome Franchise - but the owner here has loads of friendly regulars .I have used this venue for business meets and it was a great location and venue .
FP Fruit&Veg quality SUCKS. We now shop at Coles. The quality of Produce has deteriorated steadily over the past 6 months to the point where we regularly throw their stuff out or take it back. Hence why shopping at Coles. :(<br> At least 1 out of 7 receipts have errors where you are charged for stuff you didn't buy or where the price is wrong.<br> CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS.<br> Plus a fair number of everyday items seem to regularly be close to expiration date. Check that too.<br> Not sure what is happening there but it ain't getting any better!!<br>
The service was great and the entree mussels not bad, was a large serve for an entree just needed more chilli. The bread was light and served warm. My husband thought the grilled octopus and chorizo entree was also okay but it was accompanied by too many other flavours eg red onion, capers and a mustard sauce? Mains however were very disappointing. I ordered the lobster risotto. The lobster came in a half shell seperate from the risotto and was very over cooked and the saffron risotto lacked flavour with three fresh grape tomatoes on the side. This layout also made the dish quite awkward to eat as I'm used to risotto in a bowl with everything cooked together so you can eat it with a spoon. My husband ordered the meat medley which came out a lot smaller than we anticipated. The sliders on his plate were mainly bread and the steak very chewy. It didn't look appetising. To the staffs credit when I informed them of the overcooked lobster they offered me another one. I declined as we'd already eaten most of our meals. So instead they then gave us a discount on the bill to compensate and were very apologetic. We might come back to give it another chance as the service was very considerate.
Have dined here on three occasions over the last couple of months and absolutely love it. Fantastic food and really, really great service. Word of advice regardless of the night always book. We didn't on a Monday evening and were lucky enough to get the last available table.Without doubt our favourite Highgate/Mt Lawley eating spot.
Haven't been here for a few years- walked in last week at @8pm and was greeted with "pick up?" A few tables were in use, we sat at one near the front. Didn't get the right rice (only two to choose from) but it was a big serving. We had tom yum goong, tom yum ka, and a beef salad. All the food was pleasant- we asked for it medium and indeed it was! Wine glasses not too bad for a byo. Toilet is located off Beaufort St, shared with other cafes etc. A tonne of furniture was visibly stored at the rear of the restaurant. Guy in charge had a quirky sense of humour- his wife cooks and it's a small team. This place is a little too pricey for the decor and service etc.
