Situated on the high street this is a typical Aussie family pub.Happy and friendly staff, a classic menu , nothing too fancy and plenty of tables for families and friends to gather. There's also the public bar if you're just wanting to drink. The place is also popular as it's got a kids area out back.Food is tasty and if you go go on a Tuesday it's steak night which is an absolute bargain.Good choice of beer and a few wines on the menu. This is a classic Aussie pub, comfy, pleasant and a reasonable night out, can't go wrong.Like most pubs there are a lot of gaming machines, they are known as pokies but they are separated away from the public and family bars to avoid temptation.

This pub is old as expected but the front bar is warm and inviting and the Staff were great. . the food was very average but the portion size made up for the taste and the salad bar..well lets just say I didn't bother. :(Out the back in the beer garden would be great for families with small kids Its all fenced in and there is a playground

We dined both night of our stay in Port Elliott at this local pub. The food was good quality, well cooked and generous serves. Staff were pleasant and helpful. A good family atmosphere.

Charming old hotel just off the main street. Excellent meals, very friendly staff and as a bonus they have Guinness on tap. The waitress apologised to me because they only served imperial pints (not the smaller SA 'pints') of Guinness - I suffered!

Large group. Seated outside, cold evening. Told couldn't put cafe blinds down due to bar trade. Whole group was cold. Kids meals tiny - definitely not enough for 11-12 year olds. They don't usually order off kids menu now but what they wanted wasn't on adult menu. Ordered a second meal for them to share & it took about 40 minutes to arrive, by which time everyone else had finished & we were all very cold. Pasta bolognaise was described to me as being like tomato paste. Schnitzels dry. Salt &'pepper squid soggy and oily. Had overseas visitors with us - embarrassing to have them experience this lack lustre meal. No hot items in the buffet even though hot & cold items were advertised. The salads looked limp and old, watermelon on the verge of becoming Guinea pig food. Did not have salad bar as felt it wasn't in a healthy or tasty enough position. Will not return.

Service excellent, staff friendly, food horrible and almost inedible. Having said that if one likes plastic tasting food with fake mashed potato well go ahead.

I came in for a coffee, and Cameron the hotelier kindly let me out of the blowey, wet conditions outside, he made me a great Griffiths Coffee, and gave me access to the free wifi to get on with my office work. The place is clean and has a friendly environment. Will be coming back :)

High ceilings, dark timber and good wholesome food. Lovely roast vegetable buffet and good steaks and seafood. Nice playground for the children.
