After some back and forth between the kitchen because it was closed for food we eventually grabbed an outside tables enjoyed the wonderful weather on display. The battered Barra and chicken schnitzel came out in quick order with a side serve of friendly service. The barra was cooked perfectly with a crunch battered shell and melt in your melt flesh. The schnitzel on the other hand was a little dry and pedestrian.A pretty good establishment that has its strengths and weaknesses.Food 6.5/10 service 7/10 decor 6.5/10

Great service, food and atmosphere. Easy to park, quickly got meals out and prices are good value. Recommend

Nice place to have a couple of drinks but I'm not a huge fan of the food I've had dinner here twice and hadn't improved much for me.

My partner and I (late 20's) tried to take her sister (17) for her birthday dinner at 7.30pm. Would not let us dine as we do not qualify as her guardian. asked to speak to manager and would not come and talk to me. we wanted to go to restaurant. I could understand if we were trying to go to the sports bar.

Went there a nice Sunday lunch. After waiting for 30 minutes for two meals to come out I was told that there had been a mix up but our meals should be out within ten minutes or so and was offered a drink for our troubles which was a nice gesture. However then came the meals I ordered the steak with garlic prawns. The chips were really nice and fresh. But the steak and prawns were both over cooked and cold at the same time. A challenging feat but they managed it. My partner got the ribs which were very tender and had a good amount of flavour. Can't really fault that. I ordered a medium rare Filet Mignon it was so far beyond even medium it was almost inedible for myself. After waiting 45mins for a meal you expect it to be great. After all good food does take time. I told this poor young girl I could eat it and she apologised profusely and took it. She then returned and offered a replacement but at that point I was over it. You know how it is! I cannot believe the manager after us waiting for that long and then not getting the food right didn't take the time to come out and speak with me. I then approached the counter waited an extra ten minutes to speak with her as I was pretty peeved at the level of service. Asked for a refund which wasn't a offered even though I ate probably a mouthful of food. She gave me the refund and apologised. Won't be going back anytime soon. We went there for Xmas lunch and the food was actually really bloody good. What a shame. As a lot of people have said ; it's a nice spot and has so much potential.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Quite tasty meals and good range of beers. Oh, and at 38C outside the aircon was welcome.

This place is joke. I saw a lunch special board outside the lakes hotel so decided to go in for a meal. After a small wait while the waitress took couples and families to there tables and showed them where to sit it was my turn to be seated. I was handed a clipboard with a very porly printed menu on it with about 6 pages and told to "just go sit where ever you want". Why was I not shown to a table by this poor excuse for a waitress.Moving on I decided to check the lunch specials on the menu. There were none. Only the regular menu which looked like very over priced pub grub to me. I decided I would ask the waitress when she came to take my order. 20 mins later it was clear to me that I had been forgotten about. Nothing really caught my eye on the menu and not knowing what the lunch specials were (how could I?) , I decided that the spring lake hotel did not deserve my patronage and I walked out. If the food at this place is as bad as the service im sure I would of been even more upset after paying over $40 for a steak and chips.
